  • Race
  • Age (40 and above)

  • Religion
  • National origin
  • Gender/Sexual Preference

What is Sexual Harassment?

Harassment that's sexual in nature violates both federal and state laws under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, respectively. Sexual coercion and harassment in the workplace is a form of sex discrimination, and is defined as unwanted sexual advances, unwelcome sexualized verbal and physical conduct, and/or requests for sexual favors. Generally, there are two types of sexual harassment, including:

  • Rewards in return for providing sexual favors, or “quid pro quo”
  • A work environment that's intimidating and offensive due to recurrent uninvited sexual advances and verbal and/or physical conduct
