SSB family law practitioners, Lori K. Serratelli and Cara A. Boyanowski, recently completed a five week Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) training course in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. Graduation from this course permits Lori and Cara to be appointed as CASA volunteers for children who have been declared dependent by the Cumberland County Court of Common Pleas. Most dependency cases are the result of neglect or abuse of children by their parents and/or caregivers. Both attorneys were appointed as CASA volunteers by Judge Guido and Judge Masland during a ceremony performed on March 30, 2010 at the courthouse in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Their appointment requires a two-year commitment to assisting dependent children and guiding them through the steps to either reunify them with their parents or prepare them for adoption. |
